We’ve got our highest points total EVER at this stage of the season in the Premier League. Even a fucking moron could understand why they’d offer him a new contract. Regardless of whether you agree with it or not.

This is arguably our most sustained period of success ever, and looking on course for European football for a fourth season in a row.

Another 2.5 years where the youngsters won't get a look in.
Another 2.5 years of dull and depressing football.
Another 2.5 years of no subs
Another 2.5 years of picking favourites and playing others in wrong positions.
And so it goes on.
FFS.

Seems a bit of a short-term offer especially if other conditions are not very generous.

Won't be surprised if he is offered a better deal elsewhere.

I guess it's lucky they hand out trophies and European spots at new year then. Oh hang on....

Off the back of his first win away to a big team in a decade we've offered him a contract. It's a fucking joke. Shit football, we'll finish tenth and out of Europe and all you flip floppers will be wondering why we did such a fucking stupid thing as we stick 11 behind the ball at home to fucking Brentford next season.

Idiot.

The word on the street is that Ratcliffe wants to replace three out of ten hag with Moyes. Our owners have offered a generous contract extension immediately to thwart ManU.

Nobody is saying it’s the right or wrong thing to do. Just that you’re the idiot if you can’t see why they would offer him a new deal, given where we are as a club right now.

Take a deep breath, look at everything objectively and then you might just see it. Instead of being an angry hysterical turd.

Another 2.5 years of not being in a relegation battle
Another 2.5 years of playing in Europe
And so it goes on...

I got the impression, Moyes said , any decision was end of season discussion

You have to agree with VEXED assertion that he is destroying the club. Look at the facts:

> re-appointed to fight a relegation battle - ticked that box

> for the third season in four we've been in and around the top six at Christmas

> for the third season in a row, we've topped our group in Europe meaning we're straight into the last 16.

> Three league wins in a row with 3 clean sheets.

> A club all time record of 33 pts at the halfway stage of the league.

VEXED knows his stuff, let's all get behind VEXED!

So where are we as a club then Pagey? To me it looks like we're a club that's playing poor football at about mid table level with a squad full of holes despite spending a fucking fortune. We are unlikely to have European football next year and we are quite likely to lose Paqueta and Kudus in the summer because they're good and they can play in teams that actually try to win games. We are retaining a manager that has won one trophy in his entire managerial career in a competition where we were the runaway favourite to win and yet still made it look like hard work.

Yeah great, let's have another 2.5 years of shit football and a revolving door of players. Yay.

Let's face it Sullivan listens to the so called media experts who rate Moyes as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
If it's true he's been offered a new contract I hope he turns it down as there's no pathway for any of the under 21 squad to even become bench warmers.
Last night was the first time in 80 odd attempts that he's beaten a top 4 team away from home.
That is a disgusting stastistic and hardly the next level.
But all the Moyes lovers are creaming themselves over a couple of decent results.
Moyes out for me.

Re: Moyes being offered a new contract. FFS
That was a masterclass from Moyes last night who really schooled his opposite number. Of course the narrative is that he is a dour Scot and a dinosaur. Both lazy insults - ageist and culturally defined. Arteta, on the other hand is a young, tactical genius. Once again, handy, lazy labels which are very questionable.

Some obvious facts, which may prove inconvenient to some on here who want to control the narrative that Moyes is holding us back: Moyes has been managing a club with a heavy workload since August ( and the previous season) and a squad thin on first choice quality. Along with his coaching staff, he’s created a strong togetherness and cohesion which has underpinned the real success we've had so far this season.

I post quite regularly on here that you don’t have to set up your argument about whether he should stay or go into two neat columns. It doesn’t need to be a binary choice. Just look at the facts. The facts are there for all to see, unless you wish to blindly ignore what is in front of you because your mind is made up and you, for one, are not for turning.

The positives for Moyes might be the following: his record in keeping us a Premier team on two occasions of asking; - and then stabilising us; an impressive run to the semis of the Europa cup; with some glorious and memorable nights at the LS; a good points total in the Prem two seasons ago; a European trophy (ffs!); a solid first half to this season with some notable scalps; another successful European campaign underway; juggling an uneven squad; deft management of our goalkeeping position; intelligent tactical strategies of one the Prem’s most feared and productive forward trios.; solid management on handling the loss of Rice; he clearly has the backing and respect of the dressing room who collectively believe in the journey and (a-hem..) the project.

The glaring negatives might well be the following: questionable handing of past strikers; he must bear some responsibility for the unevenness of the squad;; a failure last season to build on the previous Prem campaign; too many questionable performances where there’s been a failure to be expansive and progressive.

Two negatives I omitted from that list are the failure to provide youth a chance to break through and him ‘talking down’ West Ham’s status as not being a big club.
One the first - we only have to look at a few youngsters who have left because Moyes would not give them a chance….not one of them has so far broken through and shone for their new team. Our latest crop are still undercooked. Playing Mubama might be a romantic selection - but would it weaken the team? At the moment, yes it would. As with other youngsters bubbling under, his time will come - but, for now, patience is required. Moyes priority number one, regardless of whether he scores popularity points, is to lose himself the question - will this kid’s selection weaken my team?
On the second - surely it is simply a fact to say that West Ham are competing with teams who are either financed by nations states - City and Newcastle - or heavily backed by enormous financial institutions - pick any of the other top 5. Perhaps Villa and Brighton may well be outliers like us with this point. So, yes, surely when he explains that we’re dining at the table of the elite of the elite, he’s simply stating a stone called fact. Rice going to Arsenal is an example of this, surely.

So, yes - call for Moyes’ head if you want but line the facts up first. In the true act of fairness and logic. For me, I try to not react in the binary way of kick him out / hand him a 10 year contract….although I’ve had some moments of despair like the rest of us. I get frustrated by some of our boring performances like everyone else… the Everton game, for example, was a low point this season…..but there is a bigger picture out there. Like many, I get pissed off with the ‘be careful what you wish for’ line trotted out by the pundits defending Moyes - however, taking all sorts of variables into account, weighing up the good with the bad, the euphoric with the depressing, the accolades with the criticisms - I think West Ham are still in capable, professional and stable hands. For now,.. for now.. for now….that will do me. Carry on Mr Moyes.

Employing multi millionaires with big personalities must be quite a challenge all round. At the moment it seems the best players are right on side with management. That can change over night but while it lasts its a brilliant thing.
